Haitian relief efforts have local ties
First hand account from Belleville cinematographer in Port-au-Prince
The disaster in Haiti is something we all know has happened, and it’s affecting us in different ways. I reported on it as news anchor yesterday and conducted a heart-wrenching interview with a local man who’s been witness to the aftermath.
Tony Wannamaker is a director of photography for a documentary due out next year. He and his crew arrived in Haiti shortly after the earthquake occurred. I interviewed his wife and business partner, Rhonda, and wrote a background story on it for my morning news run.
Here is my seven minute interview with Tony via satellite phone on January 17, 2010, around 10:30 EST.
