“Eight Chefs” in Toronto
A gorgeous photo slideshow of last week’s Eight Chefs event in Toronto has just been posted online.
Eight Chefs was the official launch of Oliver & Bonacini Events at the Toronto Board of Trade. Oliver & Bonacini are already successful restaurateurs in the city.
Aside from the chocolate room, I think our group’s favourite delicacies were the dill martini and asparagus gnocchi.
The martinis were conjured up by O & B mixologist, Jeff Sansome, who can most often be found at Canoe. Sansome’s dill martinis were actually very sweet, as the dill was juxtaposed with white cranberry juice.
The gnocchi was made by O & B chef, Markus Bustig, who just started as head chef at the O & B Cafe Grill. Bustig’s dish was an impactful pairing of flavours and textures.
It’s such a small world, too, because it turns out I served Michael Bonacini and his young son daily when I worked at a bakery in Toronto; and the event’s photographer, Vanessa Garrison, studied with me at York.
Congratulations to the team that pulled off this gorgeous event!
