Our Regent doc to be featured on Newsmaker Sunday
If it wasn’t for Dale sending out those press releases, I’m not sure anyone but YOU would have heard about our Regent documentary.
It shows how negligent I was at promoting the world premiere of our documentary about the Regent Theatre in Picton: my own colleague at Quinte Broadcasting, Mary Thomas, had to stumble upon us at the screening of The Dreamer of Main Street to hear about the whole thing.
Mary says she was at the Belleville Public Library doing research for her latest book on the Saturday of our screening. She suggested that her husband go see what was happening upstairs at the art gallery while she finished up. When she later went to find him, she tells me all the galleries were empty; so she followed the sound coming from the far hall and there she found not only her husband, who had joined our screening, but me standing at the front of the room talking about the documentary!
She was surprised and immediately said I should come on her show. I said I’d be honoured.
Catch the full interview this Sunday (February 15) on CJBQ radio or listen live online at www.cjbq.com – the show (ironically) rolls immediately after my noon newscast.
Thanks for your interest, Mary!
