My shiny new Blog Log

My shiny new Blog Log

If you’re reading this, you’ve heard by now that we call them “blogs” as a short form of the longer phrase, “Web logs”. Well now I’ve started a Blog Log. Which I guess literally means a Web log log.

The decision came to me after accidentally deleting my entire blog the other night. Following that modern-day disaster, I knew something preventative had to be done. Not just backing up – I already knew that and was trying to back up my blog for the first time when I erased everything with a single click. A substantial back up system had to be implemented – this time (gasp!) on PAPER!

Putting pencil to paper (because I like how the pencil sounds) I began recording how I was going about my business on the Web.

While I know this is no replacement for the electronic backing up of files, I’m sure one day I’ll be grateful for the valuable records in my good old fashioned paper and pencil Blog Log.

January 2010 update: I don’t know how I’d function in online publishing without my trusty blog log. I’ve converted it to electronic form so I can search the document when I need to recall something like keywords, passcodes or procedures. It’s invaluable and I don’t feel I can recommend it highly enough! Start your blog log today!
